C'est la vie
Once again, I am feeding on someone's wireless so that I can post-a-post. I have yet to receive internet connection in my room even though the 50 euros had been paid 36 hours ago.
To grant me internet access, all they have to do is to walk 50metres from the school to my residence and pluck in one cable. Evidently, efficiency is not quite in the nature of the French. Which is really strange because the French are supposed to be the most efficient people in the world. Even though they are bounded by law to work not more than 35 hours a week (yes, they were not contented with just having a 5-days working week, so they strike and strike until the government imposed a law to ensure they don't 'overwork' 7 hours a day), they continue to churn out one of the world's highest GDP. But no, 36 hours and counting and still no LAN connection. The wait continues.
Lucky 101 has not emailed me so I guess the Renault that I was prepared to ship over to Singapore for him/her for christmas is no longer necessary. For ton, who was so closed to being 101, I can only say 'C'est la vie' - that's life. This is what the french says to comfort themselves when things don't go their way, when shitty things happen.
And I shall also say to myself, "C'est la vie...no LAN no cry"
